People who think that inclusiveness is a hoax are really privileged. These are the people who never had to go through any kind of inclusiveness. Today, Nitin and Asish went into the discussion on inclusiveness. I thought of where it is coming from. I am writing down the points that were discussed and what comes in the mind. The person who never had to go through the struggle of getting food would definitely think that malnutrition is because of the carelessness of the parents. It won't strike the mind that there is a chance that they might not have a chance of getting proper food. Similarly, the person who is saying there is no discrimination on the basis of language, caste, or religion in the society. That person surely would never be through any kind of discrimination. It is a true privilege that the person never went through discrimination of any kind. In the limelight of the Rupa Sunar case earlier there was a spark of discussion about that is there any kind of discrimination even in today’s time on the basis of caste. The question that came to my mind was. It doesn't mean if there is no discrimination in my home on the basis of caste then there is no discrimination in the society at all. If I am eating healthy food always, I would definitely think it is not difficult to get healthy food. Another important point that has been in the discussion is gender discrimination. One of my friends was putting on the idea that there is no discrimination in society for females or other gender minorities. That same friend was participating in his family business whereas his bigger sister was never made part of that. It could have been my observation only. It might be her choice. But that choice was not even available to my friend. What I mean to say if that same friend was not allowed to be part of the family business. Irrespective of his choice than that friend would have seen the discrimination. There is much to write on the topic. However, the conclusion is the same “Thinking Inclusiveness is a hoax comes from Privilege”. At last, both Asish and Nitin agreed with the point that I said.
